What is TMD? Transmandibular Joint Syndrome is painful and can be associated with neck and back pain, headaches, and ear problems.
The signs and symptoms linked to TMD:
face pain
headaches
clenching or grinding
neck pain
insomnia
The TMD home test:
Place a finger right in front of your ear. Open your jaw slowly so you can feel the joint move. If you feel the joint click or if it's tender when you press, you may have a TMD. Also, when the joint on one side opens before or after the other, this may suggest TMD. Some people may even notice their jaw shift to one side as they open and close.
