Health Care Reform

Politics aside, based on the President's speech, which I refer to as the "Kerry Plan" or "Insurance Reform", I still have some questions.

From the consumer side, my premiums should either go down or go up more slowly. But my issues are as a Doctor, specifically as a chiropractor.

Will the system go back to treatment based on "medical necessity" which means based on the diagnosis or 12, 20, 24 visits per year?

Will reimbursements for each code or therapy go back up or at least increase with the cost of living or inflation?

Will the insurance companies continue to individually select which therapies we can perform and limit them to specific ones based on their criteria instead of basing them on standard of care and our scope of practice laws?

Will deductables and copays of our patients continue to go up, making it more difficult and financially painful to seek care?

Will Chiropractors like myself still be in business in 5 years?

Will someone let me know?
